Boats To Distribute Exams In Flooded Budalangi

The Kenyan government has implemented measures to distribute national examination papers in flood-prone areas of Budalangi in Busia County.   MSMEs Principal Secretary Susan Mang'eni announced the boat team to ferry exams in areas like Budalang'i and Akiramasi, which are prone to flooding. The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exams were delivered by boats to schools in areas like Bunyala South Ward and Sigulu Islands on Lake Victoria.  The government has set up a boat team to ferry exams, warning centre managers against cheating and urging them to follow the government's recommendations. 57-Yr-Old Man Found Dead After Booking Hotel Room With 21-Year-Old Girl

Authorities in Nakuru County are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 57-year-old man in a hotel room that he had reserved along with a 21-year-old woman. According to a police statement  Geoffrey Njoroge Maina, the deceased, checked into the hotel at approximately 1 pm on Tuesday, October 24, accompanied by Joy Moragwa, the woman in question. Several hours later, around 5 pm, the woman reportedly returned to the hotel's reception and informed the receptionist that the man was experiencing "breathing difficulties." Tragically, the man was subsequently discovered lifeless on the bed. The statement from the police mentions, "This prompted her to seek assistance from the police. The scene was visited, examined, and documented by officers from Kaptembwo Police Station and DCI Nakuru West, who found the body on the bed without any apparent physical injuries." Tragically, three American philanthropists collaborating with Child Refuge Centre International lost their lives in a horrific traffic accident on Thursday. The incident took place along the Narok-Maasai Mara Game Reserve Highway, close to the Eusonyiro airstrip. These individuals, who had been actively involved in managing nine other centers across the country as part of their work in Narok West, were en route from Narok town towards the Mara when a devastating head-on collision occurred between their personal pickup truck and a trailer truck. Baringo:Tension After Bandits Surround GSU Camp, Open Fire

Tension is currently prevailing in the Kapindasum Area of Arabal, located in Baringo County, as a group of suspected bandits has encircled a General Service Unit (GSU) camp and initiated gunfire.  Arabal Location Chief William Koech reports that an ongoing gunfight between the bandits and the GSU forces is underway. The assailants reportedly infiltrated the camp, with the sound of gunshots echoing for several hours. Additionally, reports suggest that the suspected bandits have also besieged Kapindasum Primary School, causing anxiety among the local residents.  This incident unfolds just a mere three weeks after another episode where bandits opened fire on Kapindasum Primary School while students were heading for their lunch.

Form 4 Student Killed, 6 Houses Torched In Vihiga.

A tragedy unfolded in Musunji village, Cheptulu, Vihiga County, as a student in Form Four lost his life. Additionally, nine houses were set ablaze, and livestock was stolen in what appears to be a conflict involving a romantic relationship.  The reports suggest that the young man met his demise due to a dispute with his peers concerning a girl from the same village. In response to this incident, the villagers took matters into their own hands by attacking the home of the suspected perpetrator, setting it on fire, and damaging their crops.  According to Hamisi Ruth Langat, the local police commander, the authorities managed to apprehend two individuals in connection with this retaliatory action.

The High Court has nullified a decision made by the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) which had previously reprimanded six TV stations for their coverage of live demonstrations organized by Azimio Chief Raila Odinga in March of this year. Former Secretary-General of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) and a former Nominated Member of Parliament representing workers' interests in Kenya's National Assembly, Wilson Sossion, has revealed news of his mother's passing. Sossion revealed in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) that his mother, Ruth Chepng'eno Sossion, collapsed at home and was declared dead upon arrival at Tenwek Mission Hospital. "It is with deep shock and sorrow that we announce the passing on to glory of our beloved mother Ruth Chepng’eno Sossion. She collapsed at home and was pronounced dead on arrival at Tenwek Hospital. May she Rest In Eternal Peace," Sossion stated. Sossion, known for his active role in Kenyan politics and education, served as the Secretary-General of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) from 2013 to 2017, after which he was nominated as a Member of Parliament by the Orange Democratic Party (ODM) in 2017.

Three Watchmen Found Murdered In Migori; One Body Dumped In River

Three night security guards were on Saturday morning found murdered in Migori town under unclear circumstances. The three were reportedly found with serious injuries on the neck and head, a sign that they were hit by a blunt object, with one of the bodies found dumped in River Migori. Residents of the town have expressed their anger and pointed fingers of blame to the police who they accuse of not paying enough attention to night patrols. They say the killings are disturbing, with many of them expressing fear saying the security situation in the town is continuously deteriorating, further urging Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki to intervene. It was a somber morning at Eldoret Airport as the mortal remains of Orville Kimutai, a 23-year-old Kenyan scholar, arrived for his final resting place. Gathered at the airport were friends and family members, united in grief as they awaited the return of their beloved.  Orville, from Elgeiyo Marakwet, was a promising young athlete who had traveled to Perth in March to further his education. His life was cut short in a drowning incident at Stockton Lake, in West Australia's town of Collie, on September 9. Narok: Father Allegedly Assaults Form Two Student To Death.

A 16-year-old girl has succumbed to injuries sustained after being allegedly assaulted by her father in Narok South Constituency, Narok County. Isaiah Kibet Sawe Kipsigis, aged 44 from Jerusalem Village in Narok County, stands is accused of beating his daughter, a Form Two student at Sagamian Secondary School, who succumbed to injuries while receiving medical treatment at Longisa Hospital. Police officers from Tendwet Police Station who rushed to the scene, were met with an agitated crowd who had apprehended the alleged perpetrator and prevented a potential lynching. A report has since been filed with the police station under Ref OB No. 04/02/10/2023, after details were received by the area Assistant Chief, Dan Kones.
