Migori County Successfully Hosts Agricultural Show.


Migori County has hosted a successful Migori Agricultural Show. 

The three-day event, which ends on Saturday, showcases climate-smart agriculture and trade initiatives for sustainable economic growth.

Migori County Governor Dr. Ochilo Ayacko encouraged residents and investors to use their skills to enhance agricultural and trade entrepreneurship. 

He urged Migori farmers to venture more into agrobusiness to ensure food security and a healthier workforce. The show also highlighted the potential for the hospitality industry due to its proximity to Maasai Mara National Park and Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. 

The event aimed to equip local farmers, school-going children, and investors with necessary skills in the agricultural and trade sectors.

Wilson Sossion Mourns The Death Of His Mother Ruth Chepng’eno

Former Secretary-General of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) and a former Nominated Member of Parliament representing workers' interests in Kenya's National Assembly, Wilson Sossion, has revealed news of his mother's passing. Sossion revealed in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) that his mother, Ruth Chepng'eno Sossion, collapsed at home and was declared dead upon arrival at Tenwek Mission Hospital. "It is with deep shock and sorrow that we announce the passing on to glory of our beloved mother Ruth Chepng’eno Sossion. She collapsed at home and was pronounced dead on arrival at Tenwek Hospital. May she Rest In Eternal Peace," Sossion stated. Sossion, known for his active role in Kenyan politics and education, served as the Secretary-General of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) from 2013 to 2017, after which he was nominated as a Member of Parliament by the Orange Democratic Party (ODM) in 2017.
