Parents Allegedly Beat 2-Year Old To Death After Refusing To Eat.

Police are investing the death of a 2-year-old child in Kayole, who died after allegedly being beaten by her parents. 

According to neighbours, the couple started beating the child after she refused to eat on Monday evening. 

The witnesses say the child, who had visible bruises on her body had been rushed to a nearby clinic. She was then referred to Mama Lucy Hospital, but succumbed before reaching the hospital. 

According to the neighbors the woman in the family is the step-mother after the little ones mother died.

“They beat up the child for refusing to eat. It wasn’t the first time they did that,” Gladys Wamboi, the couple’s neighbour said. 

The couple has been detained. Police from the area says they are conducting investigation to a certain the main cause of the death.

Sugarcane Farmers To Receive Their Dues Before December- President Ruto

 President William Ruto has now stated that the government will pay sugar cane farmers who have yet to receive their dues, as part of plans to revitalize sugar companies in the Nyanza region that are facing financial difficulties. The Head of State, on a four-day tour of Luo Nyanza, said the farmers will be paid their dues before December and vowed to deal ruthlessly with the individuals behind Kenya's sugar mess.  "I know sugar companies here owe farmers some Ksh.860.M, I will go look for that money, and we will be back here to pay farmers before December," he said.  At the same time, he stated that the government would announce a new course of action for the sugar companies, pointing out that a government bailout will not provide a long-term solution.
