Three In Court For Smuggling Sugar Worth Sh. 3M
Three people are charged with smuggling 400 bags of sugar worth Sh3 million from a nearby nation.
On September 22, while on patrol at night in Kiluani, Oloililai subcounty, Kajiado county, the police discovered the contraband.
Two distinct trucks were used to convey the bags of sugar.
The owner of the products has been accused of having uncustomed goods in his possession, while the two truck drivers have each been accused of violating the law by transporting uncustomed goods.
The East Africa Community Customs Management Act of 2004 is violated by these accusations in sections 199 and 200.
But each of the three people entered a not guilty plea when they showed up in front of Senior Principal Magistrate Joseph Karanja at the Kajiado Law Court.
The proprietor of the sugar was freed.
