Lawyer Sues MP Salasya Over Alleged Assault

 By: NTV A lawyer in Kakamega has sued Mumias East MP Peter Salasya seeking general damages for defamation of character, psychological and emotional distress and punitive and exemplary damages. The lawyer claims the MP had attacked him verbally and physically following a case he is handling in which Mr Salasya is accused of failing to repay the Sh500,000 he borrowed after he was elected during the August 2022 general election. This comes after the MP was ordered to appear in court on November 8, 2023 to defend himself against the debt claim in which a businessman, Robert Malenya Lutta claimed Mr Salasya failed to repay the money in two months as agreed. Edwin Wawire Wafula, representing Mr Lutta is seeking the intervention of the court claiming the MP attacked him verbally and physically on two occasions within Kakamega town. Boats To Distribute Exams In Flooded Budalangi

The Kenyan government has implemented measures to distribute national examination papers in flood-prone areas of Budalangi in Busia County.   MSMEs Principal Secretary Susan Mang'eni announced the boat team to ferry exams in areas like Budalang'i and Akiramasi, which are prone to flooding. The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exams were delivered by boats to schools in areas like Bunyala South Ward and Sigulu Islands on Lake Victoria.  The government has set up a boat team to ferry exams, warning centre managers against cheating and urging them to follow the government's recommendations. The exams are used to validate candidates' past achievements in social, economic, and political spheres. Officials in Kitui are looking for the minor who is said to have gone missing with her three-month-old baby from their home on Monday morning. The incident was reported at Kabati police station. Elsewhere, three female students are reported to have written their exams in hospital after giving birth. “One KCPE candidate gave birth today at mother and child hospital Wote in Makueni. She is currently sitting for her exams at the said facility under guard,” the incident report reads. 57-Yr-Old Man Found Dead After Booking Hotel Room With 21-Year-Old Girl

Authorities in Nakuru County are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 57-year-old man in a hotel room that he had reserved along with a 21-year-old woman. According to a police statement  Geoffrey Njoroge Maina, the deceased, checked into the hotel at approximately 1 pm on Tuesday, October 24, accompanied by Joy Moragwa, the woman in question. Several hours later, around 5 pm, the woman reportedly returned to the hotel's reception and informed the receptionist that the man was experiencing "breathing difficulties." Tragically, the man was subsequently discovered lifeless on the bed. The statement from the police mentions, "This prompted her to seek assistance from the police. The scene was visited, examined, and documented by officers from Kaptembwo Police Station and DCI Nakuru West, who found the body on the bed without any apparent physical injuries." Three Americans Perish In Grisly Road Crash In Narok

Tragically, three American philanthropists collaborating with Child Refuge Centre International lost their lives in a horrific traffic accident on Thursday. The incident took place along the Narok-Maasai Mara Game Reserve Highway, close to the Eusonyiro airstrip. These individuals, who had been actively involved in managing nine other centers across the country as part of their work in Narok West, were en route from Narok town towards the Mara when a devastating head-on collision occurred between their personal pickup truck and a trailer truck. Their destination was Naroosura, where they were involved in overseeing community-based healthcare initiatives. According to a police report from the County Commissioner's office, two of the philanthropists were 61 years old, and the third was 33 years old.
